1. Raw Material Control at Tea Plantations
We source fresh tea leaves exclusively from contracted standardized ecological tea bases with traceability agreements to avoid uncertified raw materials. Guided planting standards prioritize physical pest prevention and organic fertilizer to restrict chemical pesticides and fertilizers. All incoming fresh leaves are sampled for pesticide residue testing; non-compliant batches are rejected directly.
2. Full-process Production Management
We provide unified guidance on tea garden farming practices. No pesticides are applied during cultivation, and only organically fermented fertilizers are used with banned or restricted pesticides strictly prohibited. Physical pest control such as insect traps and sticky boards is adopted alongside organic fertilizers to improve soil quality and cut down chemical inputs.
3. Finished Product Inspection & Warehouse Control
Each finished batch undergoes in-house tests on pesticide residues, heavy metals, moisture and microorganisms complying with China’s national food safety standards. Regular third-party testing by CMA-certified laboratories is arranged with full test reports kept on file. Finished teas are stored in temperature-controlled, moisture-proof warehouses away from peculiar smells; deteriorated products are destroyed by record.
4. Traceability & Document Management
Each product batch is marked with batch number, origin and production date for full traceability to source plantations. Complete procurement, production, inspection and sales records are retained for over two years for official inspection. Batch samples are reserved till the end of shelf life.
5. Staff & Compliance Administration
All production staff hold valid health certificates with annual physical examinations. The company holds SC food production license and relevant export filing certificates, complying with domestic food safety laws and importing countries’ access requirements.
6. After-sales Risk Control
Recall and re-inspection procedures are activated promptly once quality complaints arise for relevant batches.
Tea does not have an expiration date, but it can start to lose freshness over time. At Chihong Tea we label all of our products with a “best by” date to ensure that you experience the best we have to offer.
We do recommend storing your tea in a dry, cool, dark space. Tea needs to be kept away from heat, light, air, and moisture to ensure its freshness. Do not store your teas in the freezer or refrigerator.
All our teas are gluten free. No wheat, barley, rye or gluten-containing ingredients are added during production, blending and packaging. Cross-contamination with gluten grains is strictly controlled in our production lines.
All our teas are vegan-friendly. We do not use honey, dairy, animal-derived additives or any animal-based ingredients in any blends, flavourings and raw materials. No animal products or by-products are involved throughout production.
